Meet Valeria
Valeria Ramirez, M.Ed
Meet the Educator Behind Math Coaching Lab
Valeria wants every child to feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes, and taking pride in their progress.
After seven years in elementary classrooms, she created Math Coaching Lab to give children more time, encouragement, and personal attention. She gets to know how each child learns and keeps families involved along the way.
- Education & Experience
Experience That Goes Beyond the Worksheet
Valeria holds a Master of Education in Elementary Education from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from George Mason University.
She holds elementary teaching licenses in Virginia and the District of Columbia, along with a license in mathematics coaching.
Her teaching combines clear explanations, hands on practice, and questions that help students explain their reasoning.
- Demonstrated Student Growth
Focused Instruction Can Change What Students Believe Is Possible
In one classroom setting, student mathematics proficiency rose from below 39 percent to above 80 percent. That represents an increase of more than 41 percentage points.
This classroom experience helped shape Valeria’s focus on instruction guided by student progress.
Results vary by student. Math Coaching Lab does not guarantee specific outcomes. Families receive progress updates based on each child’s learning during the program.
- Where Learning & Human Behavior Meet
Math Skills Matter. How Students See Themselves as Mathematicians Matters, Too.
Valeria’s psychology studies inform how she supports children through frustration and mistakes. Students practice asking for help, trying another strategy, and recognizing their progress.
